Dr. Ronald Morgan holds a DMA in Piano Performance and Literature, an MM in Piano
Performance, and an MA in Musicology, all from the Eastman School of Music. His main
piano teachers were Douglas Humpherys (Eastman) and Patricia Parr (University of
Toronto). Past performances include numerous solo and collaborative recitals in Canada and the U.S., and solo appearances in Great Britain, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Since 2007 Dr. Morgan has been active as a piano adjudicator for music festivals in Alberta
and British Columbia. He has acted as a judge for the Eastman International Piano
Competition, and for the Hawaii and Alaska State MTNA competitions. He has extensive
examination experience in Canada and the U.S. as a Senior Examiner for the Royal
Conservatory of Music.

Dr. Morgan now focuses exclusively on teaching at his private studio in Burnaby, British Columbia. Student achievements include numerous Royal Conservatory Gold Medals over the past several years -- including the Licentiate (National) Gold Medal in 2018 -- , a Junior-B winner at the Performing Arts BC Competition (2017), a Silver Medal winner at the Vancouver International Music Competition (2017), and a first-place in the 13 year-old category in the National finals of the CMC (2021), to name a few. Eight of his students performed in a piano concerto recital in Richmond, BC in 2018, with Dr. Morgan performing the orchestral accompaniment on second piano. His students frequently advance to the National (concerto) finals of the Canadian Music Competition, and have also performed concerti with local orchestras in the greater Vancouver area.

Before moving to Vancouver, Dr. Morgan was Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Hawaii where he also taught numerous classes, from piano pedagogy to music history.
