Collaborative pianist Amélie Langlois enjoys the busy life of an accompanist. She received her bachelor’s degree from Sherbrooke University and persued her studies at the North Carolina School of the Arts, where she was the first to graduate with a Master’s degree in Piano Accompaniment from this institution. Her teachers during that period included Allison Gagnon, Michel Fournier, Marie Fabi and Brigitte Poulin. At Master classes, she had the opportunity to play for Dalton Baldwin, Warren Jones, Edith Wiens, Donna Brown, Daniel Taylor and Elisabeth Turnbull. Amélie has been the pianist for the National Youth Orchestra. She also participated in a number of music festivals, including the Brevard Music Center and le Cours International de la Musique in Morges, Switzerland, for which she received a grant from the Canada Arts Council. Currently she maintains a full private music studio and works as a vocal coach at the University of Ottawa. From 2011 to 2017, she has also served as accompanist for le Choeur du Conservatoire in Gatineau, and she recently accepted the position of accompanist for the Viva Choir ensemble of the Ottawa Children's Choir. Amélie is a former member of Duo Rideau with her piano duet partner Catherine Donkin. In recent years, the Duo Rideau has travelled to Norway, where they were semi-finalists at the International Grieg Piano Competition. In 2010, the duet won first prize at the International Bradshaw and Buono Piano Competition and played at Carnegie Hall as a prize winner. As a collaborative artist, Amélie has performed across Canada, the United States and Europe.
