As a licensed Andover Educator®, I specialize in the physiology of movement and cultivating an open and inclusive mindset for music making. Michèle Wheatley-Brown is an accomplished pianist, teacher, RCM Examiner and CMFAA Adjudicator. Michèle’s passion is to help all musicians grow - not only to help them develop their technical and musical skills, but also to nurture a lifelong love of music.

Michèle holds a M.A. (Music) from the University of Ottawa as well as a Graduate Certificate in Piano Pedagogy Research. She earned her B.Mus. and B. Ed from the University of Toronto and is a licensed Andover Educator® – a renowned international organization dedicated to teaching proper biomechanical technique to musicians regardless of their instrument or level.

As a licensed Andover Educator®, Michèle’s adjudicating is informed and enhanced by her ability to help students understand how their body is designed to move and how it impacts their technique and performance. Michèle gives clinics and masterclasses throughout Western Canada to registered music teacher groups, conferences, universities and colleges. She has published on the topic with articles appearing in Arts Biomechanics Journal and APTA News and Views. She is also the Wellness Convener for ARMTA.

Michèle runs a private studio in High River, Alberta and performs as a soloist and collaborative pianist. A member of the RCM College of Examiners and Canadian Music Festival Adjudicators’ Association, she examines and adjudicates throughout Canada and the United States. Michèle has a passion for making music a vital part of community life and is Founding Artistic Director of a highly successful classical concert series in High River.
